The MXR Custom Shop Timmy has been developed in collaboration with Paul Cochrane; the designer of the original and eponymous effect pedal. Now, this boutique overdrive is available for guitarists with any-size wallet. This stomp box in a tiny jacket gives you a wide range of dynamics and structure to enrich your sound and lift it to the next level without decimating the original tonal character of your instrument and amp. Next to the usual tone controls, the Custom Shop Timmy features several clipping modes and can be effortlessly slapped onto your pedalboard thanks to its compact housing.

Geweldig pedaal! Gebruik hem als lichte overdrive/boost en kan hiermee alle kanten op. Komt het dichtst bij een Boss Bluesdriver in de buurt, maar heeft meer mogelijkheden, is transparanter en neemt minder ruimte in.
Door de bass/treble knoppen kun je het geluid mooi vormen, voorheen moest ik kiezen tussen een laag-mid boost (TC Mojomojo) of een hoog-mid boost (Ibanez Tubescreamer) maar met de Timmy kan ik alles er tussenin én meer kiezen!
De 3 clipping modes zijn vrij subtiel maar wel hoorbaar anders, voor mijn gevoel een mooie range tussen vintage en meer heldere boost. Voor mij is het merendeel van het gain bereik ook zeer bruikbaar: tot 2/3e van de knop, terwijl ik voor lichte OD bij andere pedalen niet boven de helft kom. Tot dit punt biedt de Timmy simpelweg méér van je eigen sound, maar met de mogelijkheid om dit te tweaken en/of boosten.
